“Life and death, energy and peace. If I stop today it was still worth it. Even the terrible mistakes that I made and would have unmade if I could. The pains that have burned me and scarred my soul, it was worth it, for having been allowed to walk where I’ve walked, which was to hell on earth, heaven on earth, back again, into, under, far in between, through it, and above.”—Gia Carangi
“We all build internal sea walls to keep at bay the sadnesses of life and the often overwhelming forces within our minds. In whatever way we do this - through love, work, family, faith, friends, denial, alcohol, drugs or medication - we build walls, stone by stone, over a lifetime.”—Kay Redfield Jamison, “An Unquiet Mind” (1995)
Have you ever felt so fucked up? mentally, emotionally, physically whatever, christ i feel like it everyday and it's killing me.
yes, definitely. to all three. sometimes you can feel this way for days, weeks, months or even over years and i know the pain can feel like a slow death but always try and have hope because things can get better even when we believe there is no solution. our minds can be both a blessing and a curse, even when we feel at our worst there is always another day when something will unexpectedly lift our spirits. it’s not forever.
